LED

What is the guaranteed number of burning hours for my LED fixture?

In-lite does not guarantee burning hours. However, the manufacturer of the LED light sources in our fixtures provides an indication of the service life of its light sources. This indication is 25,000 burning hours and is based on an ideal situation without any form of additional load. In other words, it cannot be compared to the actual circumstances in which a fixture with this type of LED light source is used. Factors like weather, incorrect assembly and voltage fluctuations in the power network can negatively affect the number of burn hours. Of course, a warranty does apply to our fixtures.

Isn't halogen lighting more atmospheric than LED?

No, most of our LED fixtures produce Warm White light. More information is provided on the page regarding LED garden lighting.

Why is LED garden lighting more expensive than halogen?

LED outdoor lighting is often slightly more expensive to purchase than halogen, but is more affordable in the long run. You can read all about the advantages of LED outdoor lighting compared to halogen on the page on LED garden lighting.

How do I connect the lighting to the 12 volt cable?

in-lite lighting is connected to the low voltage cable using the in-lite Easy-Lock and mini-connector. More information is provided on the page regarding how to connect the lighting. Refer to the manual for the fixture concerned for specific instructions regarding the installation.

How long is the cable that is attached to the fixture?

Almost all of our fixtures are equipped with a cable of around 60 centimeters, measured from the fixture to the Easy-Lock. If the cable of a particular fixture has a deviating length, then this is specified in the installation recommendations. You are to refer to the product concerned in our product overview. Can I add fixtures to in-lite lighting that is already in use?

Yes, you can. You can add fixtures to the already existing cable plan or you can expand the existing cable plan. Do take into account the maximum load of the transformer and the cable. You are referred to the pages on installing the transformer and laying a cable for additional information.

I do not want to install in-lite on my own, who can do it for me?

The majority of landscapers are capable of installing our system. If desired, our dealers can refer you to a professional landscaper.

Can I use a transformer or 12 volt cable of my own?

No, that is not possible. The LED electronics in particular are sensitive to malfunctions or fluctuations in the system. This will prevent mistakes that may lead to the less than adequate functioning of the system.

Can I combine LED lighting with halogen?

Yes, all in-lite fixtures, from LED to Halogen, can be combined with one another. Do keep in mind the load on the transformer and the maximum cable lengths for an optimal yield of light. No, that is not dangerous because the in-lite system is operated using a low-voltage cable of 12 volt. Even if the cable were to become damaged, the system will still be perfectly safe.

Can I just leave the cut off end of the cable in the ground?

We recommend that you seal off the end of the cable using the caps that are supplied with our transformers. You do so by pulling the last three centimeters of the cable apart and placing a cap on each end. Do not remove any insulation material from the cable.

How many meters of cable can I use?

You are referred to the page on laying cables or the cable manual.

What kind of maintenance do the in-lite fixtures require?

Like the rest of your garden, in-lite garden lighting also requires maintenance. We have drawn up maintenance recommendations to that end.

What is covered by the warranty?

We offer no warranty on exchangeable halogen lamps and light bulbs. If components are used in the system that do not originate from in-lite, the warranty will be invalid. No rights can be derived from the specifications concerning the burning hours of (LED) light sources. If a replacement product is offered, the warranty can only be invoked during the remainder of the current warranty period. IMPORTANT! Keep in mind during the installation that the components must be accessible for replacement; this goes for fixtures, transformers, Easy-Locks, cable connectors (CC-2) and the mini-connector.

What should I do if my garden lighting fails to switch on no matter which transformer program I use?

Check that the transformer has been properly installed. To that end, you are referred to the manual or the page on installing the transformer. If properly installed, check for a possible power failure by checking the red reset button on the bottom of the transformer. It should be pushed in. If the button is not pushed in, then the transformer probably experienced an overload. Press the red reset button to put the transformer back into operation. If the problem persists, check that the low-voltage cable is properly connected to the transformer.

What should I do if my outdoor lamps remain on longer than I have adjusted on the transformer?

Position the light sensor of the transformer in a spot where it cannot be influenced by artificial light, such as car headlights and street lighting.

What should I do if my garden lighting fails to switch on once it is dark?

Check that the light sensor is not positioned in a spot where it can be influenced by artificial light, such as street lighting or car headlights, etc. To check the light sensor, the button on the transformer must be set to the program DUSK TO DAWN (D/D) or to the time switch (number of hours). Cover the light sensor with a dark cloth so that it is not influenced by light. The lighting should switch on after a few seconds. If the lights switch on, then it is most probable that the light sensor is positioned in a spot where it is influenced by artificial light. Reposition the light sensor in that case. If the lights fail to switch on, then the light sensor is most probably defective. Our dealers can provide you with a substitute sensor.

My stainless steel outdoor lamp is rusty, what should I do?

Even though stainless steel is rust-proof, dirt deposits, fertilizers and salts can cause it to rust. You can solve this problem using our easy maintenance tips.

I believe that the Easy-Lock of my outdoor lamp is defective, what should I do?

First of all, check that the lighting is properly connected to the low-voltage cable. Refer to the product manual to that end or go to the page on connecting lighting. Test the Easy-Lock by replacing it with that of some other (properly functioning) lamp. Regarding fixtures with a light bulb or halogen lamp, you can check the light source by replacing it. Still no luck? Then contact the landscaper or dealer where the product was purchased. They can also supply a substitute Easy-Lock.
